Adelaide Wedding Photography | Melissah & James

Gemma first met Melissa & James as they eagerly awaited the birth of their daughter, Holly! From then the love between them was so infectious, and when they announced their wedding date, we couldn’t have been more excited! Such a special date! 11/11/11! For the last few months Melissah has shared their plans with us, and we wondered if the calmly organised bride would stay that way on the day

We arrived in Adelaide and met up the evening before the wedding and met James’s family, flown in from England, and sure enough, here was our beautifully calm bride. Would she be calm the next day?! Of course she was! Little Holly looked just as beautiful as her mother and can I say one of the best behaved babies I’ve ever seen! James had let us in on a little secret a few months before, that Melissah’s dream of a horse & carriage would be waiting to take her to the ceremony. We managed to hid our giggles as Melissah told us how funny it will be to get a photo of a bride getting out of the hired mini-bus!

Another secret we were privy to, was not only were Melissah & James getting married that day, but the guests had another surprise – Holly was also having her Naming Day!

The weather sure put on a spectacular day, and Melissah & James treated the guests to poker tables (with the money honouring Holly) and also a dedicated photobooth. Of course Janet & I jumped in on the fun with the photobooth, but those images will wait for another day!

It was an amazing wedding, we had a such a ball. It’s been a wonderful journey for us with Melissah & James, and now your families – Photographing such amazing memories in your lives. We both cannot wait to continue the journey with you. We hope you enjoy your showcase of your special day!

Melissah & James – Melbourne Engagement Photography

Gemma first met this gorgeous couple last year when they were expecting their first child, Holly. (And she is so divine!) On a big exciting date this year (11/11/11) we are joining Melissah & James in Adelaide (Melissah’s home town) to photograph their wedding! Their day is going to be one to remember, the location & details, family flying in from all over the world, we truly cannot wait to fly in!

We met up with them and the beautiful Holly for their engagement photography recently at the Homestead, with the outline of Melbourne City faintly in the background, to contrast their wedding in Adelaide.

Bare with me, I’m not sure where to start so I’ll jump in headfirst… To be hired & chosen to photograph a couple’s wedding is always something I get a little bit excited about. Of course I love to photograph, but to document & photograph at the same time a day that will forever be one of the biggest in a couple’s life… HUGE…. So to be hired to photograph Richie & Meg’s wedding I was beyond excited. As sister of the groom, Storyteller’s other half Gemma was otherwise booked with florist & gorgeous bridesmaid duties, so I had the always wonderful Mandy from Relic Imagery assist me on the day. So many moments that were fun, romantic, cute, & very rock n roll to share so how about I just let the images talk for themselves.. Congratulations again Richie, Megs & baby Riley .. Janet x

As Le Photography changed to Storytellers, a few gorgeous weddings never got a chance to grace our blog, so without further delay, here is the gorgeous wedding of Tessa & Brendan! Gemma has known Tessa for many years as worked together in the “Fairy Shop” at Chadstone, some fairy lovers may remember the gorgeous store from 10 years ago that had excited children (and those young at heart) for years at the Fashion Capital.

Tessa & Brendan actually eloped romantically a year before, however after their daughter was born decided to hold a intimate wedding for family. Held at the Werribee Mansion it was a slightly overcast day, however what a beautiful place to get married! Surrounded by the State Rose Garden the couple exchanged their vows for a second time and there was not a dry eye in the house!

We started our day last Friday at the Hilton South Wharf as we entered the Bridal suite, everyone was laughing, relaxed & still in their PJ’s… but looking amazing already!

As usual the time flew by, stunning Bride Linda was dressed in her gorgeous gown and it was time to head to The Pier in Port Melbourne for ceremony & reception for a 5:30pm start.

Linda and her bridal party were whisked into a hidden back room, Mstr J, the Bride & Groom’s almost 2 year old was brought in by Grandma and wow he almost stole the show!

We caught up with Groom Chris… who was nice and relaxed especially once he knew his Bride had arrived.

Linda & Chris surrounded by their nearest & dearest were married in front of the big windows over looking the bay, an amazing setting. After dark we took advantage of such an awesome location with a few intimate photos by the foreshore.

The rest of the night was about dancing, food, wine and more dancing so much fun to be a part of & document along the way

Linda & Chris’ wedding, what a perfect start to our new brand & new blog!

We were there literally to capture everything, and that we did!

Linda you looked amazing in your beautiful gown and we loved how much in awe of your wife you looked Chris. Not forgetting the little spunk Mstr J… totally adorable!
